Masvingo Set to Host Doek and Slay

The Doek and Slay permanent MC Alexander Kaseke (MC Lexy)told The Mirror
that the event is a strictly women’s only
picnic that encourages networking and
time-out for the ladies .She said that it is
othe most talked about movement in
Africa . Kaseke said that the picnic aims
to unify,celebrate ,support and empower
women from all works of life in order
to dismiss the notion that women don’t
support each other .
She also said that the turnout is great
because multitudes attend and support
one another .
“The idea behind Doek and Slay is to
support women by encouraging them
to love each other ,mend each others
crowns as well as occasionally setting
out a day to unwind and have fun.We
seek to foster a culture that values ladies
as Empowerment ,personal development
and self care are our main objections .
“We are creating an open environment
where women relax ,socialize and put
themselves first for once considering
they work hard to keep the home in perfect shape ,so they also need some time
off.We also came up with a hashtags
PeriodicCare and Dignified Periods where
every event has a pad bin at the entrance
.This bin is there so that ladies donate
sanitary wear which we then give to
those who don’t have access to these
basic needs .
“I don’t think we will stop anytime soon
because the support women show is
exhilarating ,rendering it feasible to continue ,”she said .
The picnic will feature performances by
