“Kenyan President William Ruto to Inaugurate 2024 Zimbabwe International Trade Fair”

Kenyan President William Ruto is set to inaugurate the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) of 2024, according to Dr. Jenfan Muswere, the Minister of Information Publicity and Broadcasting Services. The event, running from April 23 to 27, will revolve around the theme “Innovation: The Catalyst for Industrialisation and Trade.” The official opening ceremony is slated for April 26.Dr. Muswere confirmed that preparations for the 64th edition of ZITF are proceeding smoothly, with infrastructure refurbishment expected to conclude by April 20. The key activities at this year’s fair include the ZITF International Business Conference on April 24, which will be inaugurated by Vice President Dr. Constantino Chiwenga. Additionally, the Connect Africa Symposium, set to be opened by Vice President Kembo Mohadi, will take place during the event.Dr. Muswere emphasized that infrastructure refurbishment is already underway and on track to be completed by April 20. The official opening of the fair will be conducted by President William Ruto of Kenya. Notable events during the fair comprise the ZITF welcome cocktail, ZITF International Business Conference, ZITF Charity Golf Challenge, ZITF Diplomats Forum, Connect Africa Symposium, and the Tourism Night, all taking place between April 24 and 25.The ZITF Diplomats Forum will focus on “Fostering Economic Partnerships through Entrepreneurship,” while the Connect Africa Symposium will explore “Entrepreneurial Africa: Routes to Sustainable Progress.” The official opening ceremony and the ZNCC Business Luncheon are scheduled for April 26, followed by Public Days on April 26 and 27.The fair will also feature a two-day ZITF Innovators Forum, catering to young innovators and entrepreneurs across Africa. Furthermore, the five-day ZITF Scholastica Expo 2024 will concentrate on entrepreneurship, innovation, and leadership for students in Zimbabwe.Dr. Muswere highlighted that the ZITF Company is committed to providing value-added services and exhibition training to exhibitors, aiming to maximize their return on investment. As of March 21, a total of 466 direct exhibitors have registered, with 65 participating for the first time. Approximately 96 percent of the available exhibition space has been reserved.The fair is expected to have international representation, with 25 exhibitors from 21 countries confirming their attendance. These countries include Belarus, China, France, Germany, Italy, Iran, Japan, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Netherlands, Nigeria, Romania, South Africa, South Korea, Sweden, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Zambia.
