It seems Zimdancehall artist Silent Killer has found himself in hot water once more, this time over allegations of failing to perform at a highly anticipated show in Ngezi last Saturday.
According to the event promoter, Silent Killer was contracted to headline the show at Ngezi Platinum, but when the time came for him to take the stage, he was nowhere to be found. Worse still, the promoter claims the artist was in an inebriated state, unable to fulfill his obligations.
WhatsApp messages reviewed by this publication show the promoter, the owner of Vista Entertainment, leveling serious accusations against Silent Killer. The promoter described the artist as looking “disheveled, with dust covering his feet,” leading to speculation that he had perhaps walked from Harare to Ngezi.
In a candid response, the promoter acknowledged Silent Killer’s intoxicated state, saying, “He failed to perform coz anenge anga akadhakwa bigtym. Coz shenha yaanga ayinayo ma1 munhu wachio takatoshaya kt aburuka mumota kana kt awuya netsoka.” This translates to an admission that the artist was too drunk to perform.
The promoter further explained that they had initially left Silent Killer at a lodge, but things took a turn when the artist’s manager decided to leave with him, returning to Harare without any explanation.
Despite the drama, the promoter confirmed that other musicians on the lineup did take the stage and entertain the crowd, ensuring the event still went ahead as planned.
This is not the first time Silent Killer has faced such allegations. Earlier this month, he was arrested on fraud charges linked to another incident where he was paid for a performance but failed to show up.
The recurring pattern of alleged unprofessionalism raises serious questions about Silent Killer’s reliability as an artist within the Zimdancehall scene. As the industry and fans eagerly await his response, it remains to be seen how the artist will address these latest allegations.
