Sikhala Proof of An Out Cast: Mupambi

16 May 2024.

Renowned political analyst and outspoken human rights defender Abigale Mupambi has criticized opposition leader Job Sikhala, describing him as an outcast and a disappointment to the people of Zimbabwe.

Mupambi made these remarks in an exclusive interview following Sikhala’s recent speech at the UN Geneva Human rights Council .Sikhala was awarded an opportunity to present at the high level international forum and took the opportunity to condemn the Zimbabwean government , alleging massive human rights abuses including the arrests and detention of opposition political party members, as well as murder and torture of political and human rights activists.

Sikhala also claimed that opposition members were being discriminated against and starved in Zimbabwe and he further appealed to the international community to urgently support Zimbabwe.

“It is very sad that our opposition leaders seem to have nothing to offer the people of Zimbabwe – no ideas, no plan, no manifesto, no alternative options.” She expressed disappointment that Sikhala’s presentation appeared to be an attempt to portray himself as the untouchable despite being on the wrong side of the law.”

Mupambi stated that Sikhala’s actions confirm that he is a total outcast in the Zimbabwean political landscape. She said the people of Zimbabwe are looking for a credible opposition alternative that can unseat the ruling ZANU-PF party and provide alternative solution to their long outstanding issues, and yet meanwhile according to Mupambi,Sikhala has only joined the race of puppets who are trying to outshine each other in that race of puppets .”

Mupambi warned that Sikhala’s careless utterances could land him back in prison, stating that the law is the law and reminded him that even those leaders who were cheering him as he spoke have jailed individuals for similar reasons in their own countries.
“If Sikhala continues like this, I foresee him getting himself another stay in prison.”She concluded.

In the public domain mixed reactions were triggered by Sikhala ‘s presentations with some projecting him as a hero whilst others describe him as a desperate sell out singing for his supper.
