Renowned South African singer Kelly Khumalo has recently found herself at the center of a family dispute, with reports suggesting that her mother, Ntombifuthi Khumalo, has been allegedly expelled from Kelly’s residence in Johannesburg.
According to sources familiar with the situation, tensions within the Khumalo family have reached a boiling point, causing a strain in Kelly’s relationships with almost everyone in her immediate circle. The rift between Kelly and her family, particularly her sister Zandi, has now extended to include her mother.
An insider shed some light on the matter, stating, “Kelly had an altercation with her sister, Zandi. She expected her mother to take her side during the dispute, but Ntombifuthi chose not to pick sides.” This decision reportedly angered Kelly, and she began mistreating her mother by engaging in acts of bullying, shouting, yelling, and belittling Ntombifuthi in front of her children.
Approximately four months ago, the reported incident led Ntombifuthi to pack her belongings and depart for KwaZulu-Natal (KZN), seeking refuge. Despite the Khumalo family’s efforts to reconcile, Kelly Khumalo has allegedly opted to remain estranged, showing no intentions of returning to her family in KZN.
The insider further claims, “The problem lies in Kelly’s refusal to come back home. She has become too engulfed in her celebrity status and has distanced herself from the family.”
However, Kelly Khumalo vehemently denies these allegations, dismissing the notion that she expelled her mother from her home. In response to the claims, she revealed that her mother left voluntarily in search of the truth regarding her biological father. This unresolved matter has plagued their family for several years, and Ntombifuthi’s departure was driven by her desire to find answers.
