The enthusiastic youth demonstrated great dedication in ensuring the cleanliness of Mutare while simultaneously advocating for essential messages of drug avoidance, preventing early pregnancies, and deterring crime.

The TRM youths, who turned out in large numbers, successfully cleaned up various areas in Mutare, including the Government complex building, Main Street (Herbert Chitepo) up to the bus rank, and Meikels Park grounds. Their efforts were commendable as they diligently worked to improve the cleanliness and aesthetics of their beloved city.

Tawanda Moyana, the TRM representative in Mutare, expressed his admiration for the youth’s role in creating a clean environment. He stated, “We are grateful to our organization, TRM, for stepping up to represent us youths and teaching us to be responsible young individuals. As an organization that fights against drugs and substance abuse, early pregnancy, and crime, we feel it is our responsibility as youths to clean our environment. We are the future generation that will enjoy a clean environment.”

Juliet Zindi, a member of TRM, expressed her joy in participating in the clean-up campaign as a girl child. She emphasized her belief that it is the responsibility of the youth to maintain the cleanliness of their beloved city of Mutare.

Mufaro Chakonza also conveyed his gratitude to the government of Zimbabwe for initiating the clean-up campaign. He recognized the importance of upholding the city’s reputation for cleanliness, especially as Mutare is set to host this year’s Independence celebrations.

Anesu Kelly Mutemera, another TRM youth, appreciated the organization for teaching them to stay away from drugs and maintain cleanliness in their lives. He emphasized the significance of their actions in cleaning the town of Mutare and urged other youths to recognize the environment as their future and join in the effort to keep it clean while saying no to drugs.

The TRM youths expressed their gratitude for the support received from the Environmental Management Agency (EMA). They also extended their appreciation to the Zimbabwe Gender Commission Mutare and the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education for their support in the clean-up campaign.

The active involvement of the TRM youths in the National Clean Up campaign highlights their dedication to making a positive impact on their surroundings. Their participation not only contributed to the tidiness of the city but also raised awareness about crucial issues affecting their communities.
