Poet bags 2 awards over the weekend

Ngonidzashe Paradza commonly known as Mambo Guramatunhu for his distinctive genre called poesic (a mixture of poems and music) won two awards for the Outstanding poet of the year at National Arts Merits Awards (NAMA) and Poetry red carpet 2023.

In an interview,Mambo explained that being a poet was not his initial plan and dream, He intended on being a singer but how ever people appreciated his poetry more than this music to an extent that he started doing poetry continuously that he didn’t even see his ambitions change.

How ever he introduced a new genre called poesic through his award winning album called ‘ZVOMBO which is a mixture of poetry and music made to enhance the quality of poetry by making it more listenable and intertaining and also that poetry can now be played in radio stations.

Mambo Guramatunhu further expressed gratitude to NAMA and Poetry red carpet saying that it shows that poets are now getting recognition and it motivates them to keep going and pushing harder.

He advised all the youths and individuals who might want to persue a career in the arts and poetry industry that character building ,team work ,consistency and discipline are very important and key in the poetry industry for a successful career.
